Note 25: Lars Jakobsen, cited work, p. 90, seems to indicate that it was
in Mik’s villa that VEPRO got premises when the company moved from
Hovedvagtsgade at the beginning of 1942 and got an address on Svanemøllevej in
Hellerup. However, this has not been confirmed by Mrs Inge Roepstorff, who
believes it has nothing to do with it. She and her husband were private friends
of Mik and his then wife, Greta, and therefore knew where the couple lived, and
it was not in the villa in question, but rather on Hellerupvej. According to
Mrs Inge Roepstorff, the fact that the company's German director, Jürgen
Stengel, had been called up for military service on the Eastern Front in the
autumn of 1942 contributed to the closure of VEPRO. According to her, however,
he survived and on a few later occasions visited her and her husband in their
private home. Mrs Irmgard Stengel, on the other hand, had returned home to
Germany when VEPRO closed.
