Note 4: As mentioned, Svend Methling's commitment was due to the fact
that he was affiliated with the film company Palladium, for which company he
had at that time just recorded the film "The Gelinde Family", which premiered
in the Palladium cinema on September 26, 1944. In this film Dahl Mikkelsen had
drawn a slightly larger and by the way well animated and characterful cartoon
feature with a group of riderless bicycles who act as circus horses in a
manege., and it has been thought that Svend Methling, although inexperienced in
the field of cartoons, the right man to direct the cartoon project fairly
safely ashore film-technically and cinematically.
