Note 6: When the newspaper
notice mentions it with the proposed 4 cartoons about HCAndersen's adventures,
it is probably connected with the previously mentioned short film project, which
Dansk Farve- og Tegnefilm A/S had briefly promoted already in the summer of
1944. At that time it was actually proposed as many as six short cartoons, each
based on one of Andersen's adventures. It was about "Klods-Hans",
"Elverhøj", "The princess on the pea", "What the
Father does", "The Swineherd" and "The Emperor's New
Clothes". But as previously stated, the project was put on hold, mainly
due to the hustle and bustle of getting "Fyrtøjet" completed, and
later it became clear that the short film project would not have greater
chances of becoming profitable, especially not in competition with American
cartoons , especially Disney. Mainly for these reasons, the idea of producing
a feature film again matured, this time based on the fairy tale "Klods-Hans",
a project we will return to in a later section.
