Note 9: Strictly speaking, it
is not entirely true that the 78-minute-long "Fyrtøjet" was the first
European feature-length film to be produced, with the Italian cartoon company
Cartoni Animati Italiani (CAIF) producing the 60-minute-long black ans white
cartoon in 1936 The Adventures of Pinocchio. The film was, of course, based on
Carlo Collodi's famous children's book from 1883, but in popularity could not
compare with Walt Disney's "Pinocchio" from 1940.
